Online Heists

Step-by-step guides for each heist type. Solo players start with Cayo Perico. Team heists need friends on voice chat. Read the overview below before buying expensive properties.

Solo vs Team Heists

What is a heist in GTA Online?

A heist is a multi-step job: do setup missions (get gear, scout the target), then a finale where you grab the loot. Payouts are much bigger than normal phone jobs. Some heists require 2–4 real players. Only two can be done completely alone.
Tip: If you play solo, you only need to know two names: Farm Raid and Cayo Perico.

Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid (solo, free)

A break-in at a chicken factory. No property to buy, no crew needed. Good first heist to learn how setups and finales work. Pays around $500K. Find it on your phone or Jobs menu.
Tip: Do this before spending money on any property.

Cayo Perico Heist (solo, needs Kosatka submarine)

Rob a drug lord's mansion on a private island. Buy the Kosatka submarine ($2.2M) to unlock it. Scout the island, pick stealth or loud, steal loot, escape. Best solo heist in the game. ~$1M+ per run when you know the route.

Approaches:Stealth: quiet entry, less fighting. Loud: shoot in, faster but harder. Extra loot at the hangar and dock adds cash.

Tip: Drainage tunnel shortcut unlocks after scouting. See the Cayo Perico step-by-step guide for infiltration, loot order, and escape.

Original 5 heists (need 2–4 friends + apartment)

Classic Online heists from 2015. Need a high-end apartment with a planning room (~$200K). Fleeca Job (2 players, bank vault) is the easiest. Then Prison Break, Humane Labs, Series A, and Pacific Standard get harder and need 4 players.
Tip: See the Original 5 Heists guide for order, player counts, and payouts. Only worth it with a regular crew.

Doomsday Heist (need friends + Facility)

Three-act storyline heist. Requires a Facility (expensive underground base) and 2–4 players. Mid-game content, not for your first week.
Tip: See the Doomsday Heist guide for all three acts and Facility setup.

Diamond Casino Heist (need friends + Arcade)

Rob the casino vault. Buy an Arcade property first. Choose Silent (stealth), Big Con (disguises), or Aggressive (guns). Needs 2–4 players and coordination. High payout but long setup.
Tip: See the Diamond Casino Heist step-by-step guide for approaches, setup order, and vault loot.

Quick comparison table

Farm Raid: solo, free, ~$500K, no property. Cayo Perico: solo, $2.2M Kosatka, ~$1M+, best solo grind. Fleeca: 2 players, ~$200K apartment, ~$200K payout, good team starter. Pacific Standard: 4 players, same apartment, ~$1M, hardest original heist. Casino: 2–4 players, ~$1.2M Arcade, ~$2M+, needs coordination.
Tip: Solo players only need Farm Raid and Cayo. Everything else is optional team content.

Heist cooldowns and replays

Most heists have a cooldown before you can run the finale again (Cayo Perico: ~45 min real time). Setup missions only need doing once per approach change. Farm Raid can usually be repeated immediately. Plan your session: run Cayo, do Contact Missions during cooldown, run Cayo again.
